The Cheerleader Speaks by Kathleen Kastner

This book is a thirty-year chronicle of Kathleen’s dating blunders and success from the 3rd grade until she miraculously met her husband at the age of 39 in a yoga class. Her story reveals the lessons she felt God was trying to teach her with each new dating expereicne, the most important one being, Self-Love.

The Cheerleader Speaks will make you laugh and look deeper withing yourself, to help you remember you are worthy of a healthy relationship with the life partner that is yours by divine right – the partner God has will for you. Now that’s something to cheer about!

This book is a very fun read for everyone regardless if you are still searching for your life partner or if you have already found your sole mate. Kathleen shares a wonderful insight on dating life and the lessons learned along the way. Kathleen grew up in Salina, Kansas in the 70’s and 80’s. Her stories are hilarious and true. I know this because she is my friend and yoga instructor. Kathleen truly captures your heart. I found myself laughing, cheering her on and sharing her heartaches. She provides hope and inspiration to keep looking until we find a mate who fully loves and supports us and there is such a HAPPY ending.

What Happy People Know by Dr. Dan Baker

Dr. Dan Baker, director of the Life Enhancement Program at Canyon Ranch, has devoted his life to teaching people how to be happy. And apparently, most of us could use a little tutoring.

I personally had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Dan Baker at a Leadership Conference in Kansas City. His research and personal experiences he shares are wonderful in both What Happy People Know and What Happy Women Know.

Dr. Baker uses evidence from the new science of happiness to show us how we can overcome this genetic predisposition toward negative reactions and lead a truly rich, happy, and healthy life.

Sarah’s Summer Recipes

Berry Yogurt Cream Pie

8 oz low fat cream cheese

1 cup of fat free strawberry yogurt

1 Tbsp honey

1 tsp vanilla extract

¼ oz of unsweetened gelatin

¾ cup water

1 cup of strawberries

½ cup of blueberries

6 oz pie crust (I like graham cracker)

In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Stir in yogurt, honey and vanilla.

In a small saucepan, sprinkle gelatin over 1/4 cup of water; let stand for 1 minute. Stir over low heat to dissolve gelatin.

Stir gelatin mixture and remaining 1/2 cup of water into cheese mixture. Fold in 1/2 cup of sliced strawberries. Fill crust with cheese mixture. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.

To serve, top pie with remaining strawberries and blueberries and cut into 8 slices.

White Salsa Dip

1 cup of fat free mayonnaise

1 cup of fat free sour cream

Juice of 3 limes

1 ½ cups of finely chopped cilantro

1 (6-ounce) can of pitted black olives, drained and chopped

1 ½ cups of finely chopped green onions

In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise and sour cream. Add lime juice, cilantro, black olives and green onions. Taste and adjust seasoning if desired. Chill until serving. Serve with Baked Scoop Chips

Makes 4-5 cups

Clean Sweep 2012

Spring is here. This time of year is a wonderful time to revisit your goals for the year and ask yourself the following questions:

What do I REALLY want to achieve this Spring?

Who will I become once my goals are achieved?

How do I plan to get there?

When I think of the goals in my life I think in 4 key areas:

My Physical Environment

My Self-Care

My Money

My Relationships

Here are some key questions to ask yourself in each area.

Physical Environment:

Do I live in a home that I love?

Does my home have an area where I can go to have peace, read, work on personal productivity or inspiration?

Self Care:

Do I walk or exercise at least 3 times a week?

Do I have any habits which I find unacceptable? (too much caffeine, too much sugar, too much TV time, too much tobacco, too much alcohol)

Money:

Am I living within my means?

Do I have a budget which allows me to save money for the future?

Relationships:

Do I have a circle of friends/family who love and appreciate me for who I am, more than just what I do for them?

Am I in tune with my wants and needs and do I have a plan in place to get them taken care of?

The above questions are part of a larger self awareness assessment called the Clean Sweep. Its 100 questions broken out into the above 4 sections of 25 questions each. The Clean Sweep was developed my Master Coaches at Coach University.

The intention of the Clean Sweep is you have more natural energy when you are clear with your environment, health, relationships and money.
